I have recently discovered a guitar player who is without a doubt one of the most awe inspiring performers I have ever seen or heard. I am talking about Sister Rosetta Tharpe, she was a gospel/spiritual singer who happened to play the electric guitar. I do not mean play, I mean she could really play and deserves the title, Godmother of Rock and Roll! Her recordings in the 40’s and 50’s are priceless, a talent unmatched for her time and she is virtually unknown.
